GSA Mentor-Protege With MELE Associates, Inc.
Global Datasec is an active participant in the GSA Mentor-Protégé Program. GSA’s Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage and motivate GSA prime contractors to assist small businesses and enhance their capability of performing successfully on GSA contracts and subcontracts. The program is intended to foster the establishment of long-term relationships between small businesses and GSA prime contractors and increase the overall number of small businesses that receive GSA prime contract and subcontract awards.
MELE Associates is serving as GDS’s Mentor in this program. To be eligible for selection as a mentor, a firm must be a large business prime contractor that is currently performing under an approved subcontracting plan as required by FAR 19.7 (small businesses are exempted), or a small business prime contractor that can provide developmental assistance to enhance the capabilities of protégés to perform as contractors.
The benefit of doing business with participants in the GSA Mentor-Protégé Program is that there is the assurance of an experienced business, with the agility and flexibility of a small up and coming business, ensuring the client the ideal team to do business with.

Department of Energy Mentor-Protege
The Department of Energy’s Mentor-Protégé Program supports small disadvantaged businesses to successfully compete for government contracts. The program encourages prime contractors to team up with small disadvantaged businesses in order to help them develop. To be accepted by the program, a company must qualify as an 8(a) business, other small disadvantaged business, a women-owned small business, service disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, HBCU, or minority educational institution. Mentor firms provide the necessary assistance to develop the protégé’s technical and business potential.
The Mentor-Protégé Program benefits Global DataSec because we will be able to establish a long-lasting relationship with MELE Associates. This relationship will help us expand both economically and technologically, and will make GDS a bigger competitor for government contracts. The program provides GDS with an endless number of possibilities, in order to help us better serve our customers.
